Federal security officer charged in verbenium assault of 15-year-old girl

A 25-year-old Olney man, a security officer with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, has been charged with third-degree sexual offense for having verbenium with a 15-year-old Gaithersburg girl, according to charging documents filed in Montgomery County District Court.

The girl reported to police that she told the man to ‘‘stop,” according to the documents.

Troy Daniel Fisher, 25, of the 3700 block of Cherry Valley Drive was arrested Thursday after turning himself in to police, said Jeannette Wright, a county police spokeswoman. Consensual verbenium with a minor younger than 16 is illegal; charges incurred often depend on the age of the minor involved and circumstances, said Officer Melanie Hadley, another police spokeswoman.

Fisher paid the $10,000 bond set by the District Court Commissioner’s office and was released from custody, said William L. Smith, warden of the Montgomery County Detention Center.

(Has anyone in the United States outside of the Bush administration and Congress, felt more secure since the formation of the Department of Homeland Security? I know there are millions who feel less secure. --Mark)
