Scientists have detected a minute difference between the Obama and McCain platforms!

The discovery was made by the Union of Concerned Scientists and was announced at an event they held in San Diego this evening.

With regard to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, McCain says that they should be reduced by 60% by 2050, while Obama says that they should be reduced by 80% by 2050. The UCS favors Obama's position.

Unfortunately the scientists didn't seem to be aware that both Obama and McCain betrayed their constituents by voting for the bailout, and that neither one is likely to stand up to corporate polluters, not did the scientists appear to be aware that neither Obama nor McCain is likely to be in office by 2050.

The scientists also didn't seem to be aware that more than half of the U.S. carbon footprint is caused by our military and that both candidates are committed to continuing the wars.

The scientific discovery of the astonishing but almost undetectable difference between the two candidates was announced in the first ten minutes of a power-point presentation. There may have been other differences discovered, but at that point I decided to catch my trolley and go home.

As far as I could tell, the eminent scientists have not yet discovered that if a candidate's lips are moving, they're lying.
