All Prisoners Released!  (Austria)

http://www.vgt.at/presse/news/2008/news20080903_en.php

Story in full:

The senior prosecution office today ordered the Wiener Neustadt prosecutors to release the 9 imprisoned animal protectionists without delay!

A press release the Senior Prosecution's office stated that the length of the remand cutody is now disprportionate in relation to the offences being investigated.

Harald Balluch from VGT "I feel like a huge weight has fallen from my shoulders and I am so relieved that finally there something has happened!"

All 9 prisoners were duly released this afternoon and have now been reunited with friends and family.

More details from a FARM email:

Austrian Activists Finally Released

The ten Austrian animal activists imprisoned during May 21st raids on their homes and offices were finally released on September 2nd for lack of any evidence of wrong-doing. However, the charges under Article 278a of the Austrian Penal Code have not been dropped, and the confiscated files and computers have not been returned.

The activists' imprisonment in Austria's maximum security prisons under 23-hour lockdown, with no charges or evidence of criminal activity, provoked worldwide protests. It contributed to the scheduling of new parliamentary elections on September 28th, with the activists' leader Martin Balluch a leading candidate of the Green party.

Article 278a, similar to our RICO law and designed to deal with criminal organizations engaging in drug and weapon smuggling, remains in effect, and threatens any social action group that displeases the government.

Visit the VGT and Austria Solidarity sites for more details. Contact the Austrian Minister of Justice Dr. Maria Berger to thank her for the release and to urge reform of Article 278a to prevent future miscarriages.

Hi Mark
Would you believe it we had heard nothing here in Germany of those TEN animal protesters getting jailed in May or heard any news at all about the Austrian Article 278a!.

This is really strange as although we both watch at least the national news on TV everyday and that my wife recieves mags and data from"Pro Vieh"(Pro Animal?)which is a vegan anti mass animal keeping organisation here in Germany there has been no mention at all about this issue here in Germany. My wife said well maybe they had some news on their website(pro Vieh)as she doesnt often look there so she may have  missed it.OK and maybe we both missed A DAY of news sometime between May and September of this year! But now we know at least  how LESS this extremely important issue has been covered by the media here in Germany.Germany and Austria are more or less "brother countries"a bit like the situation between Scotland and England or Wales. But even the South German State of Bavaria shares the same spoken dialect and "Yoddle"culture(Polka music,Leather pants,Beer in plenty and Bretzels!).Austrian and German language is exactly the same(hence my point with the Bavarian Dialect).Again-we had not heard of the Austrian Criminal act section 278a and the animal protestors until Mark posted the report about the ten animal protestors here in Marks "Madforum"(excuse the pun please!).IF and I repeat"IF"it was brought to the attention of mainstream German public via the media then extremely"quietly and rarely"-certainly in no way a important issue yet it should be!.It should be as we know that a certain "Herr Schauble"Chancellor Angela Merkels Right hand man in a wheel chair(a victim of a mad gun man)has very similiar intentions for Germany-please see this link:

Thank you, Paul. That is extremely interesting.

Given its WWII history, any steps towards returning Germany to fascism would have to be undertaken as quietly as possibly.

While many things are not reported here in the U.S., other things are reported but "buried," either being relegated to the inside and least read pages of the newspapers, or a brief sentence on the least-watched news programs, usually on a day when it can be drowned out by trivia and propaganda so people won't notice it, pay it any attention, or think that it might be important.

It is frightening to think that another false flag operation like the Reichstag fire or 9/11 could frighten the German people into repeating earlier mistakes.

Planes can usually be intercepted without having to be shot down. There are even devices on most commercial airliners, I've heard, that can take control from the pilot in the case of a hijacking and control the plane from the ground.

In the U.S., the number one priority of the FBI isn't Al Quedah, Moslem extremists, the anthrax killer, or violent right-wing terrorists like Timothy McVeigh, but so-called "eco-terrorists" like ALF and ELF, people who want to protect animals from torture and protect the environment from corporate destruction. The government doesn't claim that animal or environmental activists could or would do anything similar to 9/11, but because our own government was responsible for 9/11, which was an inside job just like Hitler's Reichstag fire, the FBI cannot pursue the culprits and has to busy itself chasing after potential peace protesters instead.

Yes your absolutely right Mark and Wolfgang Schauble as written in the above link is always telling us that we are VERY VERY lucky not to have been attacked by Terrorists here in Germany and  that its a wonder that we haven been hit by a terrorist ATOMIC(YEP!) bomb etc etc. Also;Apparently the USA is planning to not allow  passenger planes to land in the States from outside of the States unless all passengers have had before take off all of their personal data checked, controlled and passed on to USA Authorities who then give or dont give the all clear for each individual(What a way to gather data from the worlds population outside of the states!).

But the reason I am mentioning this is because the very same Wolfgang Schauble is doing everything he can to convince Germany's Constitutional Court to change/review the present law so as to support this USA request. At the moment German Constitutional law prevents the sharing of personal data in this way..but somehow I cant see for example  Lufthansa therefore no longer sending its planes to the USA!!!.You could say a slight case of black mail and Schauble is again the main instigator here in Germany supporting Georgy Porgy and Co.
